Wellington Boot 6th & 7th of April 2019

Wellington Boot

Racing Carnival

The Wellington Boot has become one of the biggest and most popular country race meetings this side of the great divide, drawing in visitors from all over to enjoy a spectacular day of country racing.

‘The Boot’, as it is known to locals, has attracted a number of celebrity visitors since it began in 1981 including former Miss World Belinda Green, Getaway star Catriona Rowntree, Scott Cam and Bryan Brown.

A number of races are held over the two great days, but is the iconic State Wide Sheds Wellington Boot Race which really captures the crowd’s attention.  The exciting open two-year-old race is held over 1100 metres with a whopping $150,000 in prize money.  The Boot Race runs on the Sunday and is the feature race of the weekend.

There is something for everyone across this fantastic weekend - if you’re not one for punting, there’s plenty to keep you interested off the track!

Don't miss the delicious and decadent Oyster & Champagne Bar at the Boot.

The Miss Wellington Boot Competition – where one lucky lady who draws the winning horse for the Wellington Boot Race is crowned Ms Wellington Boot!

The always popular Fashions on the Field Competition, with excellent prize money available for the best dressed on the Sunday.

For the truly lucky or skilled punter there is the Pick the Program Competition.

Feel free to bring the kids along for a great family day out, there will be a jumping castle and face painting just for them all day.

And there will be plenty to see out and about in town across the weekend with the Rotary Markets in Cameron Park on the Saturday, the reinvigorated Best Store Window Display and first annual Best Decorated Marquee on the Day Competitions.  Contact the Race Club on 0458 452 611 for more details.
